The blue cross trail starts from the village of Anies, on DC2H, along the valley with the same name. There is a newly paved road to the place called Intre Aniese. On the road to Cabana Valea Seaca hut, walk past several houses, holiday cottages, exploitation areas and saw mills. Cabana Valea Secii hut is located near the boundary of the national park. The road crosses on the other side of Anies stream and reaches the place called Intre Aniese, where the waters of Aniesul Mic stream come from the left. This bifurcation is the starting point of the yellow cross trail that climbs to Saua Intre Izvoare saddle. Continue to the right, on the road along Aniesul Mare stream to Intre Izvoare. In the meadow with this name there are several private chalets and a forest range lodge. There is a bifurcation in this meadow: one road goes to the left, alongside Izvorul Mare, and another one goes to the right, alongside Izvorul Galatului. The first is accompanied by the yellow stripe trail marker, and the second by the blue cross. For about 3 km, the road continues along the stream, over a footbridge, when you take the road for articulated forest tractors. In a few hundred meters, turn right into the forest and follow the fairly steep switchbacks of the road. Get to a bifurcation: a grassy road to the left, a gravel road to the right. The trail markers accompany the road on the left, the other going up to a sheepfold in the area. The road also becomes narrower, but still grassy. The old trail markers can still be clearly observed, as they are quite frequent. Before getting out of the forest, you cross several small creeks that spring below Varful Omului peak. Soon, the trail bends to the left to avoid the spring of Izvorul Cepurilor. When you exit the forest, the grassy road turns into a path that still seems to be used. There is a sheepfold nearby. Before you get to the sheepfold, get back into the fir tree forest for a few minutes, on a path that climbs more steeply. When you get out of the forest, the sheepfold is straight ahead. The trail markers appear on some boulders on its territory. Walk past the sheepfold and continue north. After the last fir trees, slightly turn to the north-west. Here, the trail disappears, being covered by vegetation. Follow the direction indicated above and you can see some rocks to the left. It is worth approaching them, as they offer a great panoramic view of the surrounding peaks and of Poiana Intre Izvoare meadow. Here, come across the blue cross trail markers, which you can notice on the flagstones through the grass. The ascent continues on an old path through the grass. The direction is pretty clear. To the right, you can see: Varful Omului peak, Varful La Cepi peak, Varful Claii peak and Varful Gargalau peak. Come across the main ridge in Saua Gargalau saddle. The barely visible path, accompanied by the blue cross marking, comes across a grassy road, which bends to the left and descends to a sheepfold. Walk straight ahead and in about 20 minutes reach the red stripe trail marker on the main ridge.
