The red triangle starts on Dealul Moiseiului hill in the village of Sacel, on DN17C. Start along the village alley between the houses and when you get far enough from the village continue on the road that accompanies Valea Izei valley. The road gets narrower and the rock walls (for a short distance) let you know that you are approaching Poiana Izei meadow. After an aproximately 10-minute walk, reach the vast meadow. Many summer settlements that villagers still use give life to the meadow. The road runs through the meadow, towards its southern part. At the end of the meadow there is a bifurcation: the unmodernized road connecting Romuli to Sacel continues to the right (Romuli – Zavoaiele Borcutului – Pasul Pietrii – Poiana Izei – Sacel), and the road to the left takes you to the place where Valea Izei waters resurface. At the bifurcation described above, continue on TR past a big building and follow the new thematic trail “Drumul ascuns al apei” (Hidden Water Road). The trail includes a high diversity of habitats: caves with bats (Pestera Iza cave – 2.5 km long); species of scientific interest – Leuciscus souffia (striped chub) whose distribution border in Rodna Mountains is in the area the Izbucul Izei carstic spring – species of community interest, karstic phenomena – permanent carstic springs, peat bogs (Taul Izei or Muced – the largest peat bog in Rodna Mountains), mountain springs, coniferous forests, subalpine meadows, rhododendron and bilberry habitats.
