Description

From Simon Valley there are many mountain trails, and the present one to Gaura Valley has both ends of rare beauty. If in Simon you can enjoy the fascinating view of the Piatra Craiului ridge, or Rece Valley and Poarta village, once you get into Gaura Valley you are in front of the magnificent glacial cirque of an unparalleled beauty on the mountain slope facing Transylvania.

The trail follows Simon Valley from the church in Simon (connection with trail 24) for 4-5 hours up to the Monument of the Israeli Soldiers above the sheepfold in Gaura Meadow (connection with trails 23 and 51).

Considered by some of the Heavenly mouth of Brasov that takes you to Omu, the village of Simon is located six kilometers away from the Bran Castle and it is famous for preserving and promoting the folk traditions of the area, as a consequence being declared a tourist village. In this enchanting place, surrounded by the beautiful Bucegi, Piatra Craiului and Postavaru mountains, lies Bran hermitage and next to it several guesthouses that seem to be out of a fairy tale.
