Mining areas in our country hide natural wonders and mining is a tradition of mountain people, slowly but surely entering history. Mining in Banat is an industrial activity that decided the destiny of the people, brought joy and developed communities, but also caused many tragedies. The mining activity in Banat is known since 105-106 when the Romans brought the first settlers from Dalmatia and developed mining in the Banat Mountains, only rudimentary practiced by the Dacians until then. Mining considerably developed during the Austro - Hungarian rule and became the main occupation of the inhabitants of the Mountainous Banat. The mines in Caras-Severin were closed, one by one: the mine in Dognecea, the uranium mine in Lisava and Ciudanovita, the coal mines in Lupac, Anina and Baia Noua, the quarry in Doman, leaving behind wounds that cannot be closed, questions, disorientation, economic and social problems, but also stories and adventures of brave men. his route proposes mountain bike trail stages in the Banat Mountains, above mining galleries and caves, to promote the tradition of the place and to show bikers travelling to Banat a part of the history of the people who live here. Thus, most villages where mining was the main occupation are connected by mountain bike trails.
