The blue cross marking is located in the southern part of the Gutai Mountains and, starting from the top end of Cavnic town (before the ski slopes), it enters Gutaiului Valley. The forest road starts rather steep, but after a few curves it becomes more gentle. The section up to the meadow that hosts Gutai Hut is about 3 km long, and runs along the valley. Up to Gutai Hut, the road is decent and can be done with a regular car. Then it becomes more rugged and, as you get higher you cross the water a few times. Reach a clearing, very close to the exit of the forest, and you need to be careful not to miss the old marking that appears on a fir tree above, to your right (W). Once you see it, you climb for maximum 5 minutes and get into Mlejnita Meadow. Somewhere to the left you can see the wooden fence of a sheepfold, but you remain east of it. The markers only appear occasionally on trees, but the direction is rather clear as you can see Gutai Peak on the right-hand side ahead, NE. Cross the meadow, gently walk to the east and get back to the forest for a steeper climb. Before you get out of the forest you walk past a small spring. The final climb that takes you to the plateau of the Gutai Massif is accompanied by a path that climbs between dwarf pines. While climbing, there are a few trail markers that confirm that you are on the right track, and up the plateau you will reach the intersection with the red stripe trail in a small saddle. From here, the trail continues to Creasta Cocosului and then descends along with the red stripe to the border of Creasta Cocosului Reserve. (intersection red stripe / blue cross with red triangle).
