This trail is located in the northwestern part of the National Park, in the area of Plaiul Foii. It enables tourists to get onto the Northern Ridge of the Piatra Craiului via Padina lui Calinet tableland. From the main road leading to Plaiul Foii Hut, the trail follows Padina lui Calinet until it enters the forest, following the main valley. When entering the forest, the trail continues on the road along the main stream to Captain Orlovsky spring. From the spring, the trail turns to the left (north) for about 150 m, going around a rocky section, and then the trail turns sharply to the right (southeast) for about 50 m point. This is where you start climbing up above Malul Galben and Hornul Nisipos, to the place called Adapatoarea Caprelor, at an elevation of about 1,540 m. From here, the trail climbs to the right on the steep slopes of the wooded mountain, with a free climbing section over a series of small obstacles, one being equipped with a cable. After several switchbacks through scree and boulders, reach the area below Peretele Rachitei wall where, after about 75 m to the left, the trail takes you to Refugiul Sperantelor mountain hut. From here, the trail crosses Muchia Rachitei and continues through the lush area, past a small dry waterfall where you start descending, crossing and then climbing on the opposite bank of the dale, through a natural window, reaching the base of Cioranga Mare Canyon. To continue along Braul Cioranga Mare ledge, walk 20 m downstream and then turn right up on the opposite bank, following the path through dwarf pines and spruce trees. Continue along Braul Cioranga Mare ledge and after about 200 m get to a scree slope. Cross it and walk through the last wooded section of the trail for about 200 m. From here you can see the alpine grasslands. This is where you leave Braul Cioranga Mare ledge and begin the last climb to the right towards Varful Ascutit Peak, which you reach after about 330 m. You can also see Refugiul Varful Ascutit Mountain Hut. There are 3 cables provided in the most difficult parts along the section between Sperantelor Mountain Hut and Varful Ascutit Peak.
