Even if most mountain bike trails presented here are round trips, this is the exception: a route that does not start and end at the same point and it is to be done in the direction indicated. If you are looking for real paths and roads, beautiful landscapes, mountains, clear waters, isolated communities, simplicity and nature ... you can find them here. he trail starts on the European road (E70), in Poarta Orientala, right above Domasnea, up to the impressive hill/mountain of Domasnea, with its highest point at an elevation of 1364 m (Poiana Mare peak). From an elevation of 535 meters in Poarta Orientala, you must climb all the difference in 10 km. But it is worth it. urther, there is a steep descent over rocks and cliffs washed by water. When the descent becomes more moderate, there is an amazing single track. It crosses the road from time to time, but you don’t have time to notice that. The vegetation gives you the feeling that you ride through a tunnel. Go to Bogiltin and then to Dobraia below Arjana peak, and when you reach the church in Dobraia, start downhill on the path that first descends quite steep. When the slope becomes more moderate, the trail gets very technical, going over boulders that give you no time to relax, but then everything is done “by the book”. A delicious single track: speed, technique, jumps, turns, roots, steep slope .. everything to the maximum and superlative. This trail is similar to those in the Alps, if not better. You can’t even remember your name once you get down. Everything happens quickly and intensely. Towards the end, the trail goes past a water mill and over a bridge, but it is not as exciting as the surreal descent from the top. After you cross Cerna River, reach to “tail” of Lake Herculane (Seven Springs), a great place to relax and enjoy a well-deserved beer.
