For the route between Poiana Tapului and the Royal Sheepfold Hut, the marking starts from Poiana Tapului train station, unique on the Prahova Valley, in terms of the architectural style of German inspiration. Another popular trail starts from here to Urlatoarea Waterfall (blue dot, 1 hour).

Further, you can admire the rock formations of "The Arrow and the Shield", then "The Cliff with Bells" from where you can see the beautiful and old Sinaia, Baiului Mountains, Piatra Mare and Postavaru Massif. Continue up towards the Royal Sheepfold Meadow and then reach the Royal Sheepfold Hut (1,270 m).

If you make a 5-minute detour through the forest, you reach Franz Joseph Rock, equipped with a balcony in 1896, when King Carol I himself came to this place with the Emperor of Austria, King of Hungary, Franz Joseph, to show him the beauty of the place. From here you can see Prahova Valley, Predeal, Busteni, Sinaia, but also Baiului Mountains with Cumpatu Peak.
