The complex and difficult trail with significant elevation gain/loss climbs from Busteni and reaches Baiului Mountains Ridge on the forest road on Mount Zamora. The road is appropriate for cycling, but it is sometimes steep, testing the skills of any rider. Once you reach the main ridge of the Baiului Maountains, near Baiului Saddle, you can enjoy one of the most impressive sceneries in Romania – that of the eastern slope of the Bucegi. From here, continue along the main ridge, but not for long, as you are going to leave it somewhere near Baiul Mare Peak, continuing on a secondary ridge (Steiasa Mica and Mare) that is rarely frequented. The narrow and grassy road descends rapidly towards Tesila, with some difficulty where it enters the forest. Get back to ‘civilization’, continue on the asphalt road that connects Tesila-Secaria-Comarnic and climb again atop the southern part of Baiului Mountains in order to finally descend to Prahova Valley, in the town of Comarnic. From here, in order to return to Busteni, you can either go along the national road, which is less friendly due to car traffic, but with many tourist sights along the way in the many Prahova Valley resorts, or you can choose the faster option, to return by train from Comarnic to Busteni.
