Vrancea Mountains are bordered to the northwest by Nemira Mountains through the northern part of Raul Negru River Depression, Oituz Pass and Oituz Valley; to the east by Trotus Subcarpathians; to the south and southwest by Buzau Mountains through Basca Mica Valley, Comandau Depression and Chiurus Stream.

The geology of the mountains is reflected in the landscape: on the flysch, Cretaceous and Paleogene deposits folded into synclines and anticlines, the landscape is flat with low elevation; the highest peaks are Goru 1,785 m, Lacauti 1,776 m, Arisoaia 1,724 m, Zboina Frumoasa 1,656 m, and Coza 1,629 m. It should be noted that ​​ Vrancea Mountains belong to the most seismic zones in Romania.

There are numerous nature reserves in Vrancea Mountains: Tisita Nature Reserve, which includes the beauties of Tisita Gorge; Lepsa-Zboina Forest Reserve, with a great diversity of flora and fauna; Putnei Waterfall, with the current waterfall and the abandoned waterfalls, suspended on the left bank, above Putnei, approx. 250 m downstream of the current waterfall, as a result of tectonic processes; Comandau Botanical Reserve; Focul Viu-Lopatari Geological Reserve; Soveja resort, an area with many forests, famous for its clean air and mineral springs, very popular among visitors.

The map of Vrancea Mountains (MN29) is the 29th map of the new Muntii Nostri collection.

The map was edited using the latest mapping techniques and it was printed on moisture resistant paper. It is easy to read and simple to use due to the mapping styles, specific to Schubert & Franzke company, and as a result of practical information structuring. It is handy and everything is exactly where it should be. The map is useful for both hiking enthusiasts and professionals.

All the trails have been recorded in the field using a GPS. They are described in detail in both Romanian and English. Each trail has a technical box containing with necessary information. The map also contains the UTM grid, a projected coordinate metric system useful in the quick measurement of distances on the map.

The application created for iOS and Android will dissipate the nostalgic aura of the map, giving the product the technical complexity required for this century.
