The starting point of the trail west of Rodnei Mountains is in Romuli village, on Stramba Valley. The entrance to the valley can easily be identified thanks to the impressive viaduct of the railway that you have to bike under. After you leave the narrow asphalt road, start a long climb that ends in Pietrii Pass. The more prominent climb is between Zavoaiele Borcutului and the pass. From the pass located on the main ridge of Rodnei Mountains, begin the descent to Iza Valley. In the neighborhood of Iza Meadow, it is worth a stop to see Iza’s Blue Karst Spring and Cave. Return to the saddle and continue downhill to the intersection with DN17C national road, where you turn left (west) towards Setref Pass. Even if the way back to Romuli is on the asphalt, the fairly low traffic on this road will allow you to admire the view towards Pietrosu Peak, Maramures Mountains and the trapeze described by Tibles Mountains. Before the final descent, have a snack in Setref Pass and then bike through the of Dealul Stefanitei to reach Romuli and the starting point of the village trail.
