This trail climbs Maramures Mountains starting from Borsa center and follows DN18 national road that makes the connection with Moldova. First, bike past Borsa Tourist Complex, where you can have a short break, and then continue climbing until you reach Prislop Pass, in the past the pass situated at the highest elevation in Romania (1,416 m). So far, you have been cycling for about 24 km. Leave the asphalt and turn left (north), on the wide dirt road. The road climbs gently and progressively through Tafa and Tarnita Nedeii saddles and offers splendid panoramic views of both Rodnei ridge and Cearcanu Peak from Maramures Mountains. Get next to Fantana Stanchii Hut, where you can have a break and rehydrate, as from here on it is mostly downhill or flat cycling. Reach Tarnita Balasanii Peak and turn left to bike on the dirt road that first accompanies Balasanii Valley and then Tasla Valley. Cycle past derelict industrial buildings and after several kilometers reach Baia Borsa mining town. From here, you only have to follow the asphalt (DC8 communal road) to return to Borsa.
