Directions

The blue dot trail is a relatively recently-marked route that connects to the blue triangle trail that starts from Jiblea Veche and climbs up Jarda Hill. Located in the south-eastern extremity of the massif, the starting point is at the local information center in Serbanesti village (Salatrucel commune). Access to this place is on the asphalt road and the good road continues for about 1.1 km to the end of the village. Then, the gravel road runs between the houses and at the end of the village it turns into a dirt road. From the last house you continue on the village pasture and follow the markers on beech trees or on boulders, up on old grassy roads that squeeze between the ferns. Gaining in elevation, the marked path leads you to the edge of the forest, and before entering the forest, walk through a vegetation tunnel. At the end of it, the carpet of leaves paves the remaining ascent to the intersection with the blue triangle. The intersection is on the ridge that you are heading towards, where you can admire the central part of the massif. Those who want can continue up to Cozia Hut, bearing in mind that the rest of the route will take a few more hours, but you return to Salatrucel on the same road that you have climbed on.
