From Sambata Valley, close to the alpine zone, there is a junction with a trail that goes to the east and climbs towards Piatra Caprei rock formation. Cross the river and climb steeply on the side of a dale. At the top, get to an area with dwarf mountain pines and continue in an upward crossing to the southeast, below the massive limestone wall. This area looks like a miniature Piatra Craiului Mountain. Walk up and down several dales on a talus slope. The area becomes very wild and very rich in vegetation. Continue crossing to the south. The path is sometimes difficult to follow doe to the rich vegetation. After a few zigzags, cross a canyon-shaped creek and reach a wide grassy slope, with dwarf mountain pines and juniper. This is the intersection with the trail climbs to Cheia Bandei Peak.
