The hike starts at the Peleaga meadow parking lot towards North-East following the blue dotted sign for about 5km up to the intersection found on the ridge where we turn right towards East following the yellow cross for about 1km where we reach Păpuşa Peak. We continue the hike by turning around and walking on the ridge the same way we came following the yellow cross towards West for about 2km and we reach our second Peak but the highest to be found in the Retezat, namely, Peleaga Peak. We turn to the the red line towards North+West and walk for about 2km through the Custura Bucurei sattle and Custura Bucurei Peak just before intersecting the blue lined trail. At the cross section we change direction by turning right towards North and continue descending on the blue lined marked trail while we pass the Pietrele waterfall, respectively the Gentiana Hut. After the hut we continue to follow the path towards North and we keep left at the bifurcations by following first the blue triangle and then left again while following the yellow triangles and after 1km aprox. we arrive to Pietrele Hut where we also spend the night. The next day we start the ascension by turning towards West and follow the trail marked by blue crosses for about 3km until we reach a trifurcation. There we switch to the yellow line by turning left facing South and we follow that line passed the Retezat Peak and reach the Bucura lakein aprox 5km. The last section of the hike continues towards South ascending further on the blue line, respectively red cross and in 2.5km we should arrive back to the parking lot.
