Leave the village of Poiana Aiudului, near a bridge located close to the entrance from Rimetea. Leave DJ107M county road on a street to the north and after a short while the road continues on Rachis riverbed. Climb along the stream and cross it several times. After more than 1.5 km, the road leaves the stream and continues to the right, but you keep walking along the stream as the next section is the wild area called La Gavane. The brook had to make its way between the rocks, giving them rounded shapes. Cross several rocky thresholds with small waterfalls, admiring the potholes with a considerable volume of water. If it's hot, you can cool down here, but if the weather is wet, with flash floods or if it is winter time, the rocks can be slippery. After only 500 m on a pretty long section, depending on weather conditions and skills, reach the road that you have temporarily left. Continue climbing and after about 600 m leave the brook, turn left (NW) and start climbing through the forest, until you reach Data Saddle, where there is a signpost. This is the intersection with trail 13 (red dot). After enjoying the view, go on a road that descends westward and get to another signpost, where you come across the same route. Turn left (south) and together with trail 13 (red dot) walk towards Aiud Gorge on a path with trail markers that are harder to find.
