The trail starts from Satu Mare, next to the convenience store located approximately opposite a sports ground, near the 32 km road marker on DN 17B national road. Walk up on the asphalt road along Casei brook, and when the asphalt ends turn right, then immediately left and continue on the road that goes up to the cross that looks over the village. You do not walk on the serpentines, but climb steeply. The cross remains on the right (SE) and you walk up beside a fence. Markers are scarce, but you continue along the fences, which are on the left or on the right side of the path, sometimes on both sides, not less than 1.7 km (275m difference in elevation). The climb is in the same direction as you started, and above you slightly veer to the left on a hill. When the fences end, cross a small clump of trees, then get to a house with a painted marker. Here turn right on the road in the front of the house, somewhat on the contour line, which in 400 m descends to a small valley and a 5-way intersection. A marker on a shattered hay barn invites you to change direction to the left and climb steeply on the edge of a clump of birch trees. Get to another summer house with a marker on it and above there is a marker painted on an isolated birch tree. With some luck you can see the sign indicating the entry into the forest. There are no orientation problems anymore, the trail crosses a secondary ridge where it meets a road that climbs gently on the mountainside and after approx. 800 m it reaches the main ridge and trail 3 (red stripe).
