This is a connecting trail between huts used back in the times when cars were scarce. It essentially follows the DN7A national road, except for two shortcuts. The western shortcut starts next to a bridge after 700 m from Groapa Seaca Hut, on a road along the valley, joined by trails 23 (red triangle) and 22 (yellow dot). You follow this road through the forest and in a meadow you come across Groapa Seaca II water catchment. You continue in the same direction and at a crossroads, you choose the road climbing slightly into the mountain side and moving away from the brook. You follow this road, along which you gain elevation, and come out in the pass, at the boundary of Hunedoara and Valcea counties. On the eastern side, the path descends along a passageway between young spruce trees, then along a valley to get to the DN 7A national road at a tight bend, also next to a bridge. Obarsia Lotrului Hut is situated 4 km further on the paved road.
